I cannot believe we are halfway through December already! Can time go by any faster? I think not.

December is my favorite time to blog because I feel like there are endless topics to write about. I also love to read everyones December posts and see how everyone is spending their Christmas season. Today I thought it would be really cool to write about where I would spend Christmas if I could spend it anywhere.

I did something this weekend that I have never done before. I spontaneously took a trip to California with my mom and we slept in our car. Are we crazy? maybe but it was so much fun!

My Trip To Seattle

It wasn't until this year that I really had a desire to travel. I used to be fine with growing up in Vegas and staying in Vegas. I graduated from the same school that I had been attending since kindergarten, that also happens to be my church where I am heavily involved, I went to one semester of Bible College and quickly realized how much I couldn't be away from not only my home but Vegas in general, and now I work at that same church that I've attended since childhood... you can say I've never flown too far from the tree. Since being home from bible college, and tasting that little bit of freedom, I have been wanting to leave again and see new places. It's so funny that we always think the grass is greener on the other side.

It was this time two years ago that I was walking the streets of Israel with my wonderful senior class and I am just now realizing that I never posted about this trip. I cannot believe it has almost been two years since I graduated! Time goes by very fast and it seems to be drastically speeding up.

The Time I Went To Israel

It was this time two years ago that I was walking the streets of Israel with my wonderful senior class and I am just now realizing that I never posted about this trip. I cannot believe it has almost been two years since I graduated! Time goes by very fast and it seems to be drastically speeding up.

It is bitter sweet being home. For one I am happy to be in my own bed, with a bathroom right next to me and my own shower but I am also sad not to have all of the amazing students that I had the privilege of leading around me 24/7! It was a great trip for sure! Leading up to the trip I was very nervous as to how these high school students would react to me being their chaperone, being that I am only 19 and only had graduated 2 years ago. As soon as we stepped foot on that bus to leave for Cali, I was in leader mode. The ability to lead these students in a fun yet responsible way came out of me so naturally and it was shocking to me. The Lord really revealed to me that He has given me the gift of leadership and I am so thankful He showed me that.

I thought going on this trip that I would have to deal with a lot of drama, sick students, and leading a band that hardly seemed ready, but I was wrong. They were amazing and caused no trouble, no one got too sick, and the band rocked it every single time!

It has been almost two years since I've started my blog and I think it is pretty over due for an introduction.
My name is Samantha but you can call me Sam, I am the author (That sounds weird!) behind Lavender and Honey.

Is it shocking to anyone else that there are only a few more days of 2015?  This year, just like every other, has flown by.  This year has been pretty wonderful to me and has given me some pretty amazing memories and I wanted to include you in on this adventure!

In the beginning of the year I was fortunate enough to attend a semester at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta California.  This experience was a growing one for sure! It was my first time living away from home and I found that it was a lot harder than I could have imagined it to be.  For about the first month I was very homesick but once I started to get closer to the people at school that feeling started to dwindle away, slowly I might add.  Basically, I was homesick the whole time but I learned how to deal with it while I was there.  I also learned that sometimes you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone and that doesn't come easy for a lot of people.  At CCBC I met some amazing people that I know I will remember forever if you would like to read up on some of my experiences at school you can Click Here to do so.  Here is one of the amazing sites my talented friend Lacey captured on our way to school.

Chicago was one of the best trips I have been on by far! For starters it is an amazing city and the fact that I got to experience it with all of my friends was just the cherry on top!
Every summer my young adults group, Doulos goes on a missions trip and it has been laid on the heart of our leader to target the major cities in the United States.  This summer, it was beautiful Chicago! What is so cool about Chicago is that around every corner, you feel like you are in a completely new and different part of the City.  There is Wrigleyville which is crazy because there are so many games going on, then you walk down a block and you have the more hipster stores and eateries and everybody is all about the new thing, you walk down a block in the opposite direction and it is more of a family area with more laid back restaurants.  There are so many different people groups in all the little areas of Chicago also and it is really awesome to see so many sides of one city!

This was a day for a spontaneous adventure! Pack a lunch you drive up to the mountains with your mom and pup and you have lunch staring at the beautiful picture that God created for you to enjoy.
Living in Vegas isn't as bad as some may think it is.  We have the beautiful mountains right in our back yards, a lake 45 minutes away and we have The City right down the street.  We are also 4 hours away from California to get our sunbathing on, about 5 hours away from the grand canyon, and 5 hours from the snowy mountains of Utah.  If you think about it, we have it all it just takes a little bit of traveling to get there but the journey is half the fun!
With the weather turning cooler (finally) it is prime time for Las Vegas.  Perfect time to go for a hike or have a picnic in the mountains and that is just what I did.

Happy Tuesday guys! I hope everyone is having a good week so far!  I have been meaning to post this blog for about a week and a half now, but you guys know how the time just gets away from you, right?!

Last Wednesday I went with a big group of my friends to LA to go see the Johnnyswim concert.  Now if you don't know who Johnnyswim is you are truly missin' out and you need to go listen to them right now!
Johnnyswim is the band name of the most beautiful couple ever!!  Their names are Abner and Amanda and they are a married Christian couple who write love songs, breakup songs and just flat out amazing songs!  In their lyrics they have hidden godly messages that to some people they might just think that they are inspiring words but for us Christians, we know the greater meaning!

Here are a few pictures from the night!

School is over guys which means I can blog now!  Blogger was blocked from the schools Wifi (don't ask me why).

These last 2 week has been the most adventurous weeks of my life!
First I went to the Finale of American Idol last Wednesday, after the Finale that night we went to the Urban Lights in Los Angeles, I went to Salvation Mountain on Friday, and after my semester ended my parents and I traveled down to Mission Bay in San Diego for a little two day vacation.  Good news is I have pictures for your viewing.  So sit back and enjoy!

Hello my friends! So I think I have a pretty good idea of what time of the week I can blog.  I just started school last monday so I've been kind of busy with school work and all that fun stuff.  I want to start my fashionista Fridays back up and also blog about my CCBC experience!

So far I've moved into my dorm and I have 5 roommates so 6 of us total... that's crazy right?! I love all of them and even though we all have our separate friend groups they are becoming like my sisters.

The first few days of being here were a lot harder then I expected them to be.  I was very homesick and didn't really have friends yet and I just really wanted to go home in my own bed but I am so happy I stuck it out because I have met some pretty amazing people!

Hi friends!
This weekend I was able to go up to Brian Head Utah with my young adults group for our Winter Retreat.  The whole weekend was full of fun and A LOT of laughter! I laughed so much on this trip and I haven't laughed like that in a long time! The people The Lord has blessed me with are so amazing and encouraging and I am truly blessed by them.
