KNOW What You Eat

I have always had stomach issues since I was a little girl. Nothing ever helped or soothed my stomach aches for as long as I could remember. From leaving school early, completely missing days, to leaving sleepovers early, my childhood was always revolved around my stomach aches. It wasn't until I turned 12 that we found out what the problem was. I had countless doctors appointments to figure out what the heck was wrong with me and it was discovered that I had Celiacs Disease.

Celiacs Disease is a serious autoimmune disorder that can occur in genetically predisposed people where the ingestion of gluten leads to damage in the small intestine. Gluten is a protein found in wheat and because my body couldn't breakdown the food I was giving it, I was not absorbing any nutrients.

When I first started eating Gluten Free, almost 10 years ago, not many people knew what Gluten was, therefore people didn't have a clue how to make Gluten Free food taste good. I was so devastated when I first started eating Gluten Free because everything was so bland and honestly just disgusting. No restaurant had Gluten Free menu's or Gluten Free options, grocery stores didn't have a wide range of Gluten free items or even a gluten free section back then. Let's just say it is a much different story today!

KNOW Foods is "the leading provider of grain-free food product and help health conscience consumers achieve their diet and fitness goals by producing delicious, nutritionally superior, natural, non-GMO, grain/gluten free and exceedingly low glycemic index alternatives to traditional grain-based foods."

These last couple of years I have been a lot more health conscience because being Gluten Free doesn't mean you are now healthy, I can still have greasy Gluten Free Pizza, Burgers, French Fries, and it is all still just as fattening as non GF (Gluten Free) items but the older I've gotten the more health conscience I am becoming! I have also found that I have a sensitivity to dairy and when I have it, my skin tends to breakout so I am limited on what I can eat. It has, however, led me to make very healthy choices when picking out the food I buy, that is why I love KNOW Foods

I love having their Croutons in a salad or even as a snack by themselves and I had noticed after taking these shots that they sent me their Cereal too and I have been loving that with banana in it in the mornings!
