I published this recipe back in 2019 and it is one I have been going back to during my 3rd trimester of pregnancy. This dessert is great for anyone trying to keep healthy but have a big sweet tooth like myself. These date balls seriously taste like brownie batter but are sugar free and carb free, they are so healthy and very delicious!

Since being pregnant, I knew I would be needing to get my dates in as I geared up for the delivery and I tried another recipe I had found which is a date cut in half with some peanut butter and a chocolate chip on top. I tried this but really wasn't a fan and knowing how good my recipe was using dates I decided it's just simply the best way to eat dates!

So for my pregnant mama's or anyone looking for a healthy dessert, head below for the recipe!

How easy is that?! That is just one reason why I love this recipe and of course because they taste light a naughty treat but are not!

If you try this treat at home make sure to post it on Instagram and tag me in your picture! I would love to see!

When we were in Vegas for our baby shower, I really wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone so I also scheduled our maternity shoot. David's cousin, since he was coming to shoot the baby shower agreed to do a maternity shoot up at red rock and made all of my golden hour dreams come true!

I sent him some inspiration photos that really screamed golden hour and I think that we met our goal! I really love how these photos turned out and cant wait to show them one day to our boy.

As I was getting dressed, I put on heels that would have looked so cute with dress but couldn't imagine the thought of me trying to walk in the desert with them so I ended up putting my sneakers and high white dad socks on that you'll see in this post and although I did not want them shot, we did get a few with my dad sneaks so enjoy the site of me choosing comfort over looks. A GIRLS GOTTA DO WHAT A GIRLS GOTTA DO!

After receiving the photos I wanted to see what a few of them looked like in black and white so the following photos are with my edits but thought they were also worth sharing.

These photos turned out exactly how I dreamed they would and I know I will forever look back on them and cherish these moments.

Especially during pregnancy I have been LOVING avocado toast, specifically with hard boiled eggs on top (omg my mouth is watering as i write that sentence) but let's be honest when did I not love avocado toast?

I know most people in the world love a good Avo toast too and guys, I am not lying. I have the best Smashed Avo Recipe for your next avo toast so don't pass this up because once you try this recipe, I can almost guarantee you'll never need another.

I have been using this recipe for nearly 7 years and I have not strayed. The thing I love about this recipe is the tang from the lime, it makes the biggest difference. Another ingredient I love using in my smashed avocado is Lawry's Seasoned Salt. It adds so much taste to anything and is a good swap for just your normal table salt.

Okay so enough holding out on you, here is my secret to the best Smashed Avo

As David and I were prepping to go to Vegas for our Baby Shower we really needed some couple maternity photos at the shower which was a great excuse for me to get David to take some photos with me which used to occur way more often but since moving to Mexico and getting into the grind of starting a church, it is rare to see us in a photo together.

You already know that I just set up my tripod and got some shots of us in our home and they turned out so cute! I will admit I had to get what I could with David so we don't have an abundance of photos with the two of us but we did get some good ones together that I will cherish forever.

I am so happy that even though we got few photos, that we have these to always look back at this season in our apartment. These were taken just a week before finding out the gender of our baby and now looking at these photos is even more special. You can see our Baby Shower/Gender Reveal recap here

I can't even believe I am writing a post about our baby shower. It feels like just yesterday that I was blogging all about our wedding, yet it also feels like that was a billion years ago too.

Planning our baby shower was fun and stressful all at the same time but I honestly didn't even do much at all. I had the best party planners (a.k.a my sister, mom and bestie) who threw the shower for us and we couldn't have loved it more. I am truly blessed by my family and the shower was BEAUTIFUL and got so many compliments after. Compliments to the chef or the shower planner!

I remember having the initial "meetings" with my sister about the shower and although I wanted a really minimal shower, I was inviting 85 people, yeah you heard that right! Thankfully our church allowed us to have it in their lobby which made this possible. My sister and I began to Pin away on Pinterest for our Shower/Reveal.

Honestly the shower was above and beyond all that I could have imagined. So let me show you what I'm talking about.

Decor & Food

Games & Gifts

When going to a baby shower are you one who loves games or despises them? I found out at ours that most people despise them which it was a good thing we made the games very subtle and didn't involve the whole group.

The first game we had was to guess how many pieces of candy were in a jar at the welcome table, the second game is called "My Water Broke" which is where you freeze tiny baby dolls in an ice cube tray and at the shower, whoever's baby breaks free from the ice in their drink first, that person yells out "my water broke" and wins a prize. Game linked here

The third and final game was a questionnaire of who is most likely to between David and myself.

If you are someone who doesn't love doing games, I highly recommend these that go by before anyone even notices you've played a game. We also had corn hole outside for those who did not want to partake in watching us open gifts.

The Reveal

Knowing we were doing the shower in Vegas with our friends and family, I wanted to wait to find out the gender with everyone around and make it both a shower and a reveal party. My mom came up with the cutest idea to do a piñata since David and I live in Mexico and David is also Mexican! I loved the idea and hadn't really seen anyone doing piñatas for a reveal.

David actually knew the gender already because he really wanted to find out. He and my sister worked it out to get the piñata ready for the reveal.

Because David knew the gender already I wanted to be the one to hit the piñata but when I stepped up to bat I took 3 swings and was winded. I knew then if I wanted to find out the gender at all that day, I needed the help of David.

I, with everything in my being thought I was having a girl and didn't even question that pink was going to come flying out of that piñata.

When I saw blue flying out of that piñata I was in absolute shock. All of a sudden all I could see was blue and I felt just like that 90's song that reads "And everything he sees is just blue like him inside and outside." All I noticed in that moment was how blue everything was, the sky, blue cars in the parking lot, people wearing blue and for the rest of the day I was literally in shock!

I am so excited to have a boy and I don't know what little boys are like or what to do with one but I can't wait to love him like nobody else does!

It was also ver special to spend my birthday celebrating with all my favorite people over our baby boy!

We are so thankful for our family and friends who could come and celebrate this awesome season with us! It was truly the best baby shower and we are beyond blessed!

We cant wait to welcome our baby boy coming in July!
