Can you even believe it is going to be Thanksgiving on thursday?! Time is seriously going by way too fast, before you know it, it will be 2017!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, as I am sure it is for a lot of people. I love when my family gets together and eats so much food and the best part about Thanksgiving food is the leftovers am I right?!

There is something special that my parents and I do on Thanksgiving day that makes it so special to me. Every year my church holds this huge function called "Blessfest" and what it is, is we set up our church building into different service rooms. One room is for people to get dental work done, another will be for medical work, social work, and even manicures and haircuts! Our church goes out and picks up the homeless in the Las Vegas area and we bring them to our church and serve them a hot thanksgiving meal and allow them to walk through our church and get everything that they need to done. They come and eat, take showers, get new clothes, and receive so much love.

For the past couple of years I have served in the manicure room and its so amazing to see people come in, so happy to be pampered either for the first time ever or for the first time in a very long time. I love to see the interaction in the manicure room, it is a time to sit down with them one on one and just listen. I know that it has been a long time since some of those people have even had a conversation with another person. Serving at Blessfest turns out to be such a huge blessing for everyone who serves.

Around 10 am, when my family has finished serving, is when we go home, cook and eat our thanksgiving meal. We have it all; turkey, ham, stuffing, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, and you can't forget the pumpkin pie! It is so delicious! It isn't all the time that my family can all get together for dinner and it is so special when we do for Thanksgiving.

How do you spend your Thanksgiving Day? Do you eat a traditional meal or something special?
