Do you ever feel like you have way too much on your mind and can't even think of where to start so you just put yourself into a panic instead?
I don't know about you but it is quite often that I am feeling overwhelmed by stress lately. I think my problem is that I over commit to things. I will often say yes to so many people or to so many things and before I know it, I am committed to a million things and don't even remember saying yes to the majority of it. A lesson that I have been learning for a little bit now is to not say yes right away to people but to say "hey let me check and get back to you" this way you have a proper amount of time to think about your schedule, think about if you really want to do what your about to say yes to, and you can give them an honest answer.

Though, for those moments that you have said yes to too many things, here are 5 ways to deal with and eliminate the stress that you are under, because face it, we are girls and we will find something to stress about!

Pamper Yourself Girl!

Normally when I get home and I am feeling stressed my mind automatically goes towards a bath.  I know for most girls baths are relaxing, for me baths weren't relaxing until I found out about Lush Bath Bombs and now I look forward to the days that I have a little extra time to take a relaxing and beautifully scented bath.

Here is what my pamper night looks like when I need to eliminate stress:
1. First I will start filling up the tub and then wash all my makeup off (you don't want to take a bath with all of your makeup on, bad for the skin!)

2. After washing my face I will put on a face mask. It is usually the Mask Of Magnaminty by Lush .

3. Once my Bath is filled I will plop in a Lush bath bomb or 2 (you can never have enough.)

4. Normally I will watch a favorite tv show, listen to music or listen to a sermon while I'm in my relaxing bath. (Probably best to just have music on so you can think clearly)

Normally I do my best thinking while in the bath, maybe because of the fact that I am not on social media and I literally am in a situation that forces me to be still and quite which brings me to my next point.

Take a Break

Now this is going to sound insane but try putting your phone down for 15 minutes. Our generation and culture can be so addicted to their phones that this statement can sound a bit crazy. Sometimes you need a 15 or 30 minute social media detox. For myself, whenever I get on Instagram or Pinterest while I'm stressed I get relieved from that stress for a bout 2.5 seconds and then it just starts to remind me of all that is on my mind. Do you ever look at someones Instagram that is perfect and it only reminds you of how unorganized your own life is? Yeah, me too and that is why my friend, I get more stressed out when I go on social media.

Getting off of your phone is a great way of clearing your mind and getting your mind to focus on what your stressed about. For me, whenever I think about the reason(s) why I am stressed I can focus on what I need to do to eliminate that stress and maybe that is writing out what I need to do.

Selah

"Pause and Meditate." Most of the time when I am feeling stressed out it's because 1. I have way too much to do and 2. I have way too much on my mind to even know where to begin. When I feel this way I often find myself pausing my brain and meditating on the things that I need to do and writing out a to do list is a great way of doing that. When I see everything that I have to do written out in front of me it calms me down and then I can prioritize what needs to be done first.

Another way that I "Pause and Meditate" is to sit down with a cup of coffee and just pray and tell the Lord what is on my mind. Normally when I pray I write down my prayer in a journal and I find that, again this helps me to just get those things out of my head and onto physical paper.

I often think and meditate on these few verses when I am feeling stressed.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27

In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is with me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?
Psalm 118:5-6

Stretch It Out

Another great way to feel less stressed is to stretch. Now, I really hate to stretch because I was literally born with the worst flexibility EVER and it hurts (which is why this is not me in the picture and why I really should be stretching more)! I do have to admit that when I do stretch I feel a lot more at ease and my body feels a ton better! Whenever I am under a lot of stress it normally builds up in my shoulders and I end up with painful knots in my shoulders and obviously stretching helps with that pesky little issue.

30 Second Dance Party

Lastly and honestly my favorite is to have myself a 30 second dance party! I grew up loving to dance so maybe that is why I like this so much but I also feel that when I am stressed out, having a little dance party all by myself helps me not to take things so seriously, and enjoy life!

I am sure that you can relate to this on some level and if you have some extra tips to deal with stress leave them in the comments for all of us to read up on!

Ladies, have a stress free and awesome rest of the week!
